" We travel not to escape life,
but for life not to escape us "
...is synonymous to adventure, challenge and good deeds.
Whether in the dazzling deserts, on the planet's most amazing roads or far beyond any boarders, our expeditions are a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the highest value of show-and-tell. We travel adventurous but save at all times, equipped with the best expedition vehicles, the latest satellite technology and always spreading happiness to people while in the search of new FRAME CHARITY projects.
" Don't listen to what they say,
go see! " - Chinese Proverb
Where others go around...
...we drive right through!
Our world is full of dazzling deserts awaiting to be explored. Professionally trained and equipped for the toughest conditions and self-sufficient for several weeks, we conquer the world's most adverse but spectacularly beautiful wilderness.
January/February 2023 onwards
A starting ground for all desert enthusiasts. A variety of amazing ergs are to be found in Morocco and its neighboring countries. They are often refered to as the sandboxes for European overlanders and so popular due to their easy access as a place for hibernation.
Get close to the stars in this high altitude South American desert. A moon-like landscape, dry air and no light polution makes the Atacama a delight for adventurers, film and photo enthusiasts. Feel like James Bond and leave your imagination to the universe.
Winter / spring 2023/24
Covering the Southern third of the Arabian peninsula, the Empty Quarter is the second largest sand desert in the world and the queen among the desert adventurers' playgrounds. A trip is always combined with visits to the UAE and Oman and possibly soon to the KSA.
Uyuni Salt Flats
These Bolivian salt flats are a must see on the Panamericana. During the wet season it transforms to a mirror and brings the blue sky even closer. It's a marvelous desert, but the Altiplano is not deserted. Meet the friendly people and listen to their captivating stories.
April - December 20??
Not the largest, but likely the oldest desert in the world, a Namib desert expedition is the ne plus ultra in both desert (dunes upto 300m) and safari experiences. We plan it either as an exclusive Namibia discovery tour or combined with a South Africa round trip proceeding to the neighboring Kalahari desert.
Mongolia trip 2025
A Gobi Desert adventure is the icing on the cake to any Mongolia/Siberia expedition. It is a huge contrast to the greens of the surrounding steppes and wheter you are looking for fossils or remains of the Great Wall, the chances are to find them both.
" I don't know where I'm going,
but I'm on my way "
You heard and possibly read about it...
...Now it is time to experience yourselves.
The world's most amazing roads and routes are waiting to be navigated. From the epic Panamericana to the spectacular Karakoram Highway, immerse yourself in history, culture and a truly memorable adventure by experiencing all the classic sites in addition to the many off-road side tracks.
From the far north of Alaska to the very southern tip of Argentina, this epic expedi-tion brings us through all coastal countries of North and South America. The indicated 30'000 KM distance will likely be doubled due to the many detours we will undertake in this 3-year long adventure. "The journey is the destination"
May to October 20??
Also known as the N-35 or KKL, this 1'300 KM route is connecting Pakistan to the acient silk road and offers dramatic sceneries in altitudes up to 4'700M and an abundance of friendly people. Although it may be classified as "difficult" it is certainly a rewarding journey with lifetime experiences and memories.
Late summer 2025
The crown of the silk road is the part through the Pamir mountains. Whether you count starting in Uzbekistan (Termiz) or Tajikistan (Duschanabe), you are sure your adventure is complete once you made it to Kyrgystan (Osh). We will not miss any opportunity to explore numerous detours to enhance the thrill.
" The only people who ever get anyplace interesting
are the people who get lost " - Henry David Thoreau
The sky is the limit...
...and the magic happens outside your comfort zone.
These are our motivating factors going beyond borders and off the beaten off-road tracks. Searching for the thrill outside the box, we find them starting where others usually turn around. Join us on an expedition going beyond the limits. We start right here, at the end of the “road”!
March / April 2026
The Dalton Highway is arguably the loneliest road on earth. Crossing Alaska from south to north we will reach close to the Arctic Ocean after several days of wilderness. But once we have reached Deadhorse at Prudhoe Bay, the adventure just begins. Curious how far further West we will reach completely offroad.
Fin del Mundo
During Panamericana 2028
Once we cross the strait of Magelan the ultimate expedition to the continent's southernmost region at Tierra del Fuego has started. For most travelers the Panamericana ends in Ushuaia, we will push the envelop and target to reach latitude 55°S while soaking up local culture and landscapes at Fin del Mundo.
When Mongolia and Siberia is off the bucket list, Chamchatka may still remain. The paramount adventure is whether or not we can reach by land the vulcano half-island and northeastern-most territory of the Asian continent. Vast and wild with wildlife sighting at its best, a true FRAME Expedition.
FRAME EXPEDITION AGENDA
FRAME warm-up to Romania
Warm-up trip from CH to Southeast Europe. Pit-stop in Vienna and Budapest. Intensiv off-roading in Hungary and the Carpatian mountains. Charity activities in Bucharest and surrounding.
Hibernation in the Moroccan Desert
Exploring the beauty of Andorra and some of the best of Spain and passing to the African continent at the end of the year. Visiting Marrakesh and Casablanca and then moving to the mountains. Demanding desert navigation and testing of the autarky. Hibernation off grid!
The Ultimate Scotland Experience
Starting with the colors of The Netherlands during the tulip season and some major must-sees, we will soon reach our target destination Scotland. Going beyond borders in Scotland means reaching the northern most cliffs of Shetland Island, which will be further north than the south of Greenland. This summer will be long enough to spend also at least 7-8 weeks exploring Ireland.
Exploring the South Caucasus Region
A first expedition to Asia. We will go deep into the Caucasus mountains and reach small villages that have yet to be explored. Let's get lost between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea and discover the custom and tradition of this amazing region.
Albania, Greece, Turkey,
Georgia, (Armenia), Azerbaijan
Local Folklore & Food
Extreme Offroad to the Nordcap & Iceland
By mid March we plan to reach the Nordcap at freezing winter temperatures, but not all in the dark. On the way, we will take the best of Sweden and Norway. By May we ship to Iceland for the ultimate nature and extreme off-road experience. Late summer brings us back, but not without exploring Denmark.
Hibernation in the Moroccan Desert (part 2)
After winter 22/23 this is the second hibernation in the Magreb. This time we discover Portugal before we set foot (or wheels) to Morocco. We will skip the majestic cities and concentrate on capturing photo and film of nature and wildlife.
North Asia & Middle East Expedition
This will become the ultimate overlander expedition. We aim to reach Mongolia through Russia and Kazakhstan. Subject to permission and the right crew, we'll attempt to drive to Chamchatka, the vulcano half-island and northeastern-most territory of the Asian continent. On the way back we navigate along the old silk road on the Pamir Highway. Finally, we will explore Iran and pass winter on the Arabian Peninsula with extensive desert adventures as well as fantastic photo opportunities in Dubai & Abu Dhabi. The icing on the cake - inshallah - will be the exploration of Saudi Arabia, going beyond borders where Overlanders have (hardly) never been.
Charity & Culture
An epic drive and the most legendary route connecting all Pazific Ocean countries from the very top of Alsaska to the very South of Argentina.
We ship to Halifax and start to "collect" the beauties of North America, one by one. Only guided by the weather and the seasons our way will go along the route, but seldom ON the Panamerican Highway. Then we are up for off-road adventures and meeting the indigenous people, want to listen to their amazing stories and whenever possible bring some happiness.
